Marsha, if you'll let me, I think I might be able to provide some
advice relating to this, hope you don't mind. /smiles/

This pertains to gmail users. For the longest time, I would post a 1
liner to various lists I was on, because I didn't know how to change
the "to" field in my gmail. I'm using gmail with jaws, in basic html
format. For those of you who are using the basic html format, you'll
find that at the bottom of a message, you're probably using the quick
reply function in order to respond to a message. This is what I was
doing, and it's the only thing I new to do. There's no way to change
the "to" field, or the address field, using this method. If you want
to write one person directly instead of the whole list, and you don't
know how to change the "to/address field" using gmail, basic html
format, here's how.
Scroll down to the bottom of your email, where the quick reply
function is at. If you know where the "text edit" box is where you
write your emails, then you'll know that pressing the down arrow once
will be the "send" button. If you have your focus on the "edit" box,
where the body of an email response would be, hit your up arrow once.
You'll here your screen reader say "more reply options" button. Hit
enter. It'll take you to a screen where you can change the "to" field,
or the field with the recipients address in it, as well as the subject
field. You simply copy and paste the recipient's email address in the
"to" field, tab, change the subject if you want, then keep tabing
until you get to where it says "message body." Then type your message
and tab to the send button, right after the "message body" area. Hit
send, and voila!

Hope this helps at least one person. I know when I didn't know how to
do this, I was frustrated because I didn't wanna send a one liner to
the lists that I was on at the time, but I didn't know how to change.
Sorry if me posting this to the group was out of place, just wanna be
helpful if possible. /grins/
