Hi Nimer,
Sorry to hear that you are having issues with Abbie. It could be the heat,
like Steve on here suggested. But, it really hasn't been too hot around here
lately.
I am wondering if it is her getting used to a new area. Did she just start
this, or when you moved up here?
I would definitely call the school. Keep me updated on what they suggest.
Take care.
Deanna

Subject: [nagdu] Possible dog issue

Hello all,

I'm hoping that I can get some suggestions about a couple of things, and
I'll be calling up the school on Monday to see if they have anything to
recommend. However Abbie is a five and a half black lab and up to this point
has been pretty healthy, with minimal problems.
We are both very fast movers, and she has always had lots of confidence
while walking. Recently she has begun to slow way, way down and at some
points will just stop and refuse to move. I can get her moving again after
about 30 seconds or more of encouragement, petting, praise, and her spinning
around in circles a few times. Also, she has become very hesitant while
crossing streets, particularly busier intersections and will at times slow
way down and other times will speed up and angle off into traffic if she
thinks we're crossing in a different direction. This is very recent
behavior, and at first I thought she might be having an off day but it's
been sustained over the past week or so.

So, after all that, anyone have any suggestions? She hasn't had any close
run-ins with cars, she hasn't been attacked, or had anything dramatic happen
that I know about and up to this point she's been an excellent worker with
lots and lots of goofyness thrown in.

Thanks, and any suggestions are appreciated.
