yes, I indeed do, Buddy.
I do not believe unless one is in an emergency situation that a job is so
important that a person has to be employed by someone who states a dog can't
come to work with you, especially in a very non-dangerous job.
when I worked for the V A in buffalo, our switchboard area had its own
bathroom and break area so technically if a person was alone, the person
just took breaks whenever possible but had to answer the phones anyway so
bathroom breaks had to be very short, lunch or other breaks could be
interrupted by the phone system ringing or alarms going off, etc.
I do think, though, that something could be in place so that the dog could
be taken out, or, actually, a dog can hold it for a bit so take the dog out
before the shift and relieve her after.
At our V A, the switchboard people are alone perhaps on some weekend shifts
and from about 7 p.m. to about 8 a.m. the following morning which
constituted part of a shift and a whole shift. I'm very surprised that
there would be only one switchboard person from 2 to 10 because 2 through
about 7 can be extremely busy.
