Okay, guys story time.
I went to a Catholic church once on a bitterly cold day. I was absolutely
convinced my dog wasn't thirsty.
We walk into the chapel, and I hear "slurp, slurp, slurp" I reach my hand
out and find a dish full of water.
I knew as soon as I touched it what it was, the bowl you use to sprinkle
holy water. My dog thought it was there for her.

The other church goers were not amused.

Yah Bibi, I've had that sort of thing happen a lot! I had a person follow
me around the store and tell me Holly had a bladder infection because
apparently she left a couple of drops of blood on the floor. Well, I got
her home and looked at her foot pads and sure enough, she had a little cut
on one from walking on rough ice. So now, sence she won't wear boots, I
leave her home when I suspect the ice is hard and rough. Also, i get a lot
of folks wanting to give Holly water on the bus. She sometimes gets a
little nervous on the bus and shakes a little. This is probably because
some of our drivers are slightly nuts and the busses may lurch or stop
wuickly. They think shes thirsty or hot even when its cold out and she
drank before we left. Some folks will actually yell from the back of the
bus or try to get right in my face! Well, when we leave the bus, Holly is
eager to leave and she is perfectly fine! I'm making her sit or lie between
my legs so that she doesn't slide as much and this seems to make her less
nervous. Also, I rub that big head of hers! Lastly, I used to frequent
this Coney Island just up the street from my house. One of the waitresses
there would always come over and try to force food and water on Holly. The
last time I went there, she came out in the middle of my meal with a big
bowl of water, some ham and bacon. I never feed her those last 2 and she
doesn't get water unless we've been out for awhile or its obviously hot.
The woman tried to force me to feed her and I told her I don't feed those
things to her. She kept hovering near the table and asking what she should
do with the food and I finally told her to go make herself a sandwich. She
got really upset! I sure didn't leave a tip!
Intelligence is always claimed but rarely proven!
