Hi Marti,

Oh I'm so sorry that this happened to Shaman and you. I think I would file
some kind of complaint weather it's a lawsuit or file a report against the
police department and dog control in your area for not doing their jobs and
for not protecting your rights against loose dogs being out of control and
attacking your service animal. That is so not right and it frustrates me to
hear that  there's nothing being done to protect all service animals from
loose dogs being out of control and attacking. Thank goodness Shaman and you
weren't hurt or injured.  But I have to agree hear with Maralyn that
something needs to be done about this issue fefore another service animal
and handler get injured or worse. Poor Shaman ! I don't blame him for being
scared after almost being attacked the second time around in just one day.
Also, that man with the Pit bull needs to be held accountable for his
actions and for the actions of his dog going after your dog. In fact, what
the heck was that guy thinking using a belt on the dog like a leash? That
dog needs to be taken away from that man because it's clearly noted that the
dog isn't friendly and will attack animal or human. I myself absolutely
hate Pit bulls. i Definitely wouldn't let this situation go but pursue it
further and see what can be done to enforce the laws to portect service
animals and their handlers from being attacked like the one you just
experienced hear. I sure hope Shaman will be alright and will be able to
work for you without being afraid of other loose dogs. Take care.
