[nagdu] crowded trains

This brings up a interesting thing. Emma is a shepard, and when we are at
school, or any where for that matter, she will do the shepard sprawl. You
know like takes up as much of the floor that she possibly can. So if we are
on a crowded train, how do I make my pup be small?

Well, first of all, I agree with you on the business of not caring about
standing. It is fine with me. I sometimes feel I can get the dog in a bit
safer place if I do sit, but I try to keep him small as possible and stand
behind him to protect his tail. I try to refuse seats, and sometimes it
works. Other times it does not work. Maybe this is a cop out, but when it
doesn't, I just go ahead and take it to get the situation finished. I'm
older and I know I can stand on the train or bus; some of those folks I
won't see anymore; we all want to get where we are going, so I leave it
alone. But I will protest. There are times when it has worked to do that,
times when not.
