Thank you Lori. Your message is very assuring. I just didn't know how dogs
would react to such things since I personally freaked out after I got my
wisdom teeth pulled a few weeks back...

Subject: Re: [nagdu] dog insurance?
Hi Hannah,
I don't know to much about the pet insurance. But I have had my previous
guide dog Leo in to the vet for a teeth cleaning.I would make the
appointment with the vet for my guide to come in and have his teeth
cleaned. So usually at least this was the way they did it with me, I would
take Leo into the vet in the morning of his appointment and drop him off and
I would pick him up in the afternoon. Usuallly the vet will do a exam on my
dog before putting him under anithesia to be sure the dog is in good
health. When the dog wakes up the staff wants to make sure the dog is awake
and alert before they send the dog home. Leo my guide was a little groggy
afterwards but the effects of the antathesia will ware off and the dog
should be fine that night or by morning the next day.
I haven't had to take my current guide Gipp in for a teeth cleaning yet.
If you have to take Princess in for a teeth cleaning it's nothing to get
you're self upset about. The staff at the vet's office will take good care
of you're girl. But I know you still worry about our dogs when we have to
leave them for the day until we go and pick them back up. Trust me Princess
will be glad to see you when you go and pick her up. Take care.
Lori and theGipper
