[nagdu] recheck for Giardia?

Steve,
I guess it's normal for dogs to get it. My friend's dog (she was also at
training with me and got a poodle from Pilot) has giardia when they returned
home.

So, does anyone else find it interesting that at least 2 dogs in the past
couple of months from the same school, have tested positive for Giardia?

Just thinking out loud.

Steve

Chantel,
I believe you have to get your dog rechecked for giardia because the Pilot
health form asks for the results. You should take the stool sample in as
soon as possible, and they want it as fresh as you can provide.
Princess just got checked for it and she still has it. Not sure if it's from
when we were at Pilot, but I hope the medicine she got treated for was
effective; I have to take her in for another giardia check in about a month.
Best, Hannah and Princess

Hi all,

I asked this on another list, but I thought I'd ask it here as well.
Tomorrow, Motley has to go to the vet for an exam so Pilot Dogs can see how
he is doing healthwise.

\We just came home from Pilot two weeks ago, and while we were there, he was
positive for Giardia and was treated for it.

Would it be smart for me to have him rechecked? If so, how fresh does the
stool sample need to be in order to get the results we need? Also, if the
vet takes the sample himself, how does it work?

Thanks,

Chantel and Motley
