[nagdu] recheck for Giardia?

Well I totally agree with both of you. Sounds like giardia is sort of common
so I guess I'm over the whole not telling thing because there's nothing I
can do about it. I do wish they would have checked her teeth though since
it's going to be kind of a pain to have her go to the dentist every six
months...

Cindy,
You have expressed my sentiments exactly. This just jumps out at me as
being not responsible on the training program's part. Again, I don't want
to jump to conclusions or point fingers, but something is just not right
with this scenario especially with 2 individuals taking home dogs who were
positive for it? It makes me wonder how many other dogs were sent home with
similar symptoms and the handlers were unaware of what it was/is and brushed
it off as *stress*.
Again, just my opinion, but upon discharge from the program back home, that
dog better have a darn clean bill of health if I were to take it home.
My unhumble bias opinion,
Steve

I would guess that the dog was suffering from the giardia all along. I
wonder if Pilot goes over the vet record with the handler. If they didn't
recheck her and find her negative when Hannah left, then it seems as if they
should have pointed that out to her and said that if she had symptoms she
should go to the vet. In fact, if she was still positive, they should have
sent her home with medication in my opinion. Of course I don't know all of
the details first hand, but that's sort of how I'm feeling about it right
now.
