[nagdu] TSE class date was RE: Trunks

Dar,
TSE and the other schools evaluate the fitness of a person to work a dog on 
an individual basis.  there can be a person who becomes unable to work a dog 
safely while in their 50s and some folks can still safely benefit from guide 
dog use into their 80s or 90s!  Just depends on the person.

Guide Dogs of America was founded because the schools used to put a high end 
age cutoff as to when a person could get a first dog. That was back in the 
late 1940s.  The guy was a union man and he got his union to fund the 
creation of a guide dog school here in California - now known as Guide Dogs 
of America but was called International Guiding Eyes for the Blind up to 
1993.  I forget the name of the union but they still support that school and 
it is doing well.
