There should be an expiration date on it as it is FDA regulated.

Subject: [nagdu] dog food, how can one tell if it needs to be gotten rid of

I currently have 2 bags of dog food and a container about half way full of
food (well sealed). One bag has never been opened and the other has about ¼
left in it. How long can I keep the food? The unopened food was purchased in
March of this year and the rest was purchased in early Nov. of 2011. The
brand is Natural Balance. The reason why I am asking is because I thought I
would have had a guide dog by now and I am now waiting to get a class date
from TSE. The do not have an idea yet on when the date will be. Thank you
for your help.
