OK, instead of having a bunch of chatter about why requests were made of us to cut back on the number of posts, especially off topic and one liners, I want to revisit allergies.

I reaize it is our right to have a dog places where people with allergies attend. But those folks have rights as well. My husband goes to amateur radio stuff with a guy who says that he is allergic to dogs and, therefore, my dog cannot ride in his car. I question the seriousness of these allergies because he spends hours in our house helping Bob sometimes, and we have three dogs here. But I don't have that right to judge. Anyway, so my husband goes places with the guy and I am banned from going though I am a Ham. That hurts just a little.

Last spring a woman sat near me in class when I was in my spiritual direction class, and after a few hours she said her allergies to the dog were beginning to bother her so she needed to move. That hurts in relationship building.

A few Sundays ago a guy gave me a ride home. I'd not had a ride from him before. Later he said he had forgotten that his daughter is allergic to dogs. I suggested that the dog wasn't in his car very long, and he said he vacuumed it out, but in this discussion, what he was really saying was, "I can't give you a ride anymore."

When I was in Louisville a couple of weeks ago, one of our new members on the committee said she was allergic to dogs, and they placed us together on the same sub-committee, and I have heard since that she was pretty hostile about this with others.

So where does it end? We have rights, sure, but we have feelings, too. I just don't quite know how to deal with this onslaught of allergies, so how would you all deal with this epidemic.
