[nagdu] steps at the street

Hi Julie,
If this is already suggested, please ignore. Most curbs, have a gutter
attached, meaning that that point at where the curb meets the street, there
is a seam. You might want to try to feel this with your foot. Otherwise,
the sure way is to carry a cane as you will definitely be able to
differentiate between the asphalt and the concrete and also find that seam.
HTH,
Steve

No, there is no one to help me learn this area. I also do not take the
same route each time I go through this area. I could avoid it, but I
don't like to do that unless it is absolutely necessary. The streets are
quiet, old, narrow, brick residential streets, so walking faster across the
street isn't a huge issue.
I guess it's not a big deal to work each step as if it were the curb.
It's just a bit stressful for me to not know when I'm entering the
street at my first step into it. Checking with my foot for the next
step doesn't work well because the steps are spaced further apart than
is typical. There is no handrail.
Julie
