[nagdu] steps at the street

Yes, I did think of checking it out with a cane. I didn't happen to
have one with me though. I have a tiny telescopic one in my purse, but
of course this would be one of those rare times when I wasn't carrying
it. *smile*

Then you'll have to remember the number of steps until you reach the curb. I think it's great that Monty checks each step and holds fast until you direct him forward. Don't forget about your cane just because your using a dog, they are both valuable tools for mobility. Hope this helps.

I could avoid it, but I don't like to do that unless it is absolutely necessary. The streets are quiet, old, narrow, brick residential streets, so walking faster across the street isn't a huge issue. I guess it's not a big deal to work each step as if it were the curb. It's just a bit stressful for me to not know when I'm entering the street at my first step into it. Checking with my foot for the next step doesn't work well because the steps are spaced further apart than is typical. There is no handrail.
