I have a dog, not my guide, who would prefer not to be groomed.
I do wonder why that is. My guide loves it; it is a means of
getting attention. I think you just have to overlook his dirty
looks and activity and talk to him while you are grooming him.

I hire a mobile groomer right now because I have three dogs here
and in the end I don't think the price is that much different
when you figure in transporting them. I am trying to do this
every two to three months and have them all groomed then. I
guess I'm now kind of on a three month pattern. I love my mobile
groomer. She charges $200 for the three, and I don't have to
transport them. Maybe I could get bulk rates other places
though.

 Hi all,

Do any of you have dogs that do not like to be brushed/groomed?

My dog, Pascal has always disliked being brushed. Every time I
get my
grooming kit out, he runs and tries to hide.

He will tolerate being brushed, but gives me dirty looks and
acts like I am
torturing him. I don't think it hurts him, as I use a softer
than normal
slicker brush, and occasionally a Furminator. I also don't use
a strong
pressure when I run the brush through. He doesn't act like it
hurts, or
wince in pain (which is always good, LOL) As soon as I am done
he turns
back into his normal happy self. I give him praise when he
behaves well, and
if he is really good, he gets a kibble afterwards as a treat.

Any thoughts or suggestions on making grooming more enjoyable
for him?

I also have a question about bathing and professional grooming.

Do you all bathe your dogs at home? If so, how often?

Do you take your dog to get professionally groomed? How often?

 Thank you!

 Deanna and Pascal
