I totally agree with that. And this was my point allso. I think most of
people  take pets and working animals as their family members but I allso
can see what makes it so hard to regulate animals rights with laws. We all
know  that  animals have feelings and they have personality. But how is it
right to regulate different questions? Like for example what kind of food to
give  animals? Cant people who dont have a lot of money take a animal
beacuse they cant buy  the animal high quality food? Or maybe  a person who
wants to give  a pet ordinary food like meat and stuff like that?
I just say that in a world there are millions of people and we all think
differently. And  yes I think so allso that it was wrong to put that dog
down but I allso think that  the ladyes son tought that it was right
desigion and nobody  cant make change hes mind.
I say once again. I think allso that it was sad and against  our moral
judgement but we cant agree on every question or situation.
For example in Estonia  at shelters for pets was a rule years ago that if
people dont take a dog  during a few weeks then  the dog will be put down. I
dont know how is it now. I hope it is changed. 
Believe me, I dont say that it is okay to put down  a pet who is healthy. I
think it is very sad and unfair but my logical  side says that people are
the highest  in hiarchi and thats the fact.
I hope  you understand my  poor english and dont think that im saying that
it was okay what the son did. Beacuse once again- my personal opinion  is
that it was not right.

Yes, attitudes towards animals differ from country to country and cultures
differ.  In the U.S., people tend to look at animals as a family member and
they are treated like the people's kids even!

On the other hand, animals in the U.S are also treated as property under the
law - you know like a car or house.  In the U.S. our pets are treated like
family but food animals are treated with cruelty and that seems to be OK. 
It is weird for sure!  The whole thing is AFU.

We need to change the law to reflect how our society views animals and the
ones who work for us.  Just because the law says we can disposes of an
animal as we wish, it doesn;t make it MORALLY right.
