Hi Eve,
No! I wasn't giving you a hard time about not likeing Labs! LOL! I'm just
curiouos why people like or not like breeds. I have a friend who, as a
rule, doesn't like Labs but she likes MY Labs. Some of the things she said
was that she didn't like how many Labs snarf stuff off the floor all the
time and ate anything that didn't eat them first. She thoought many didn't
seem to have much personality - were mainly blobs lying on the floor. My
friend is a shepherd person. She did tell me that my Labs seemed to have
neat personalitites and they weren't always being a Hoover Vacuum cleaner
everywhere we'd go.

I kind of see the "blob-like" personality in Labs that belong to friends who
NEVER let their dog play with other dogs or people. One of my friends seems
to think her Lab is made of china and will break if she were allowed to play
with Landon and his friend, Bernie - both Lab/Golden crosses. Bernie's mom
and I can't seem to convince the other friend that her dog is a Lab and
therefore a sturdy dog who can withstand the rigors of play with another
dog. Oh well, poor dog.

Landon has a nice personality. He's friendly and happy but knows when to
make friends or not the tiime to do that. That's why I can use him for
therapy work as well as him being my guide. He can spend an hour in a
retirement home visiting people and then go right back to guide work when
our time there is over. We walk down the hallway to go out the door to
leave and along the way people try to pet him. he ignores them and guides
me out the door as we follow the cart with the other animals on it.

Lyn and Landon
