Don't love? Interesting. Lexia loves it so much that the problem is not
getting her to open her mouth but rather that she does not eat all of the
tooth paste before I can get it on her teeth.

You should actually brush their teeth daily. I don't, just so you know this,
and I understand why you aren't. You may have to try several. I tend to get
something fairly generic. There are some things you can spray in their
mouth. When I do this, then I use gauze or a paper towel, but I am sure the
toothbrush is more effective. I think that you have to gradually introduce
this to the dogs for it isn't something they love. I think the little finger
brush is nice because you have more control over it. I am glad you brought
this up as it will yield some interesting technique discussion.

technique to it. Of course, this probably depends on how willing your pup
is to expose their teeth and gums for cleaning.

plaque build up and asked was I brushing. I had relied on the daily dental
treats because she was never too inclined to open her mouth to me when she
had gotten into something and I said to "drop it"; she just clamped her
mouth shut on her prize.
