From a college student myself, I would leave the harness on the dog. Now in my case I have a harness that I can remove the handle, which I love, so the body part is still there. My pup also lease guides just as well as she does in her harness, so taking the handle off is not an issue. Not sure where your pup is from, so I don't know if you have a harness like mine. It would be great if all schools gave out hanress where the handle could be removed. Otherwise if the dog has to keep the harness on, they do not mind at all.
