[nagdu] people taking pictures of dog or wanting to takepictures of your dog

When I did color guard, we held the flag horizonally and I felt the tention which I used to stay in formation.
The corps I marched with was a youth corps and no longer exists.
I'd love to find a way to do this as an adult. Anybody know of options? I'd like it even better to find a way for my daughter to march, hoping that she and I can enjoy the same experiences I had growing up, and that she can learn many of the same skills that I learned.
Anybody have ideas for oppertunities I could check into?

Hey Larry, isn't it great when we are accepted as an equal member of a
non-blind or disabled group!
Interesting about the miniature donkeys - didn't know about them but am
familiar with miniature horses. Are they as cute as the mini horses are? I
bet the donkeys are cute in the nativity scene! LOL!

When my Democratic Party group has a table at a street fair, Landon is there
with me. I take his harness off so he can relax and get greeted by
passersby. He entices people to come over to the booth and wwe then talk to
them and get them registered to vote if they need to do this. Landon gets
silly at times but that's okay - he's ouot of harness and people aren't
always aware that he's a guide dog.

If you get to be part of your color guard, will you be working Holly and
holding the flag with the other hand? Or does a sighted person guide you
and Holly heels? I think color guards with flags have these flag holders
strapped around them that holds the butt end of the flag pole and you only
need one hand to carry the flag. In my parade, I carried a flag over my
shooulder and hoped it didn't get away from me by the wind. I worked
Landon.

I love to hear about guide dog users being involved in regular things like
parades! And in other organizations for that matter. I know so many blind
people who don't do any of these things and think that they can't do this.

Hope you aren't getting all those storms the east coast and west coast have
gotten. Enjoy your day.

Lyn and Landon
