Hi Julie and Everyone,
I had an incident two summers ago out in a town called Greenport . I was doing day things with friends as I was on vacation. We went out of a store and stood on the sidewalk figuring out which way to walk. A man came over and started petting Anna. I asked very nicely "Please don't pet the dog it's is working. When you see a dog in harness its working and you should not distract it. He said I like dog. He continued to pet the dog. I said again in a firm voice Please don't pet the dog you are distracting it. He said again I like dogs. So the only thing I could do was drop the harness shorten the leash and stood in front of Anna so now he couldn't pet the dog as I was blocking him. He then walked away. My friends and I couldn't believe it but they thought what I did was good. Sometimes we have to take further steps when someone won't listen and block them so they can't pet the dog.
