All of us have probably had access issues with our dogs. I'd never known anybody to have one with a cane so this intrigues me, plus how you would use the law with dog access issues in the 1970's.

Also, the White Cane Law also talk about the need for drivers to yield to
blind people with white canes while said people are in a crosswalk.  And
also only legally blind folks coould carry a white cane - with or without
red tip.

You're right, this law used to cover guide dogs and access before the ADA.
I imagine they haven't changed.  We used to use these laws all the time for
guide dog access during the 1970s.

I remember in 1972, I was going into the Museum of Fine Art in Boston with
my white cane and they gave me a load of crap about me bringing it into the
museum.  The guard actually said to me that he feared that my cane would
gouge a priceless painting!  I said I used it for mobility and the cane
remained on the floor and not tapping across any painting - unless the
paintings were on the floor!  He shut up then and I enjoyed the museum.
