Being willing to accept any breeed or sex should make the process go
much faster. Bringing up the references is good and I have a bit more
advice on that. Make sure you check out your references and are able
to trust that they will send back your forms filled out properly, in a
timely manner. My process was majorly delayed by references that were
not the brightest. One person who agreed ahead of time, actually threw
the papers away when she got them because all she was able to see on
the envelope was that it was from a guide dog school and she did not
want a guide dog. She never thought of keeping the letter until her
husband came home to read it and find that it was the papers she
agreed to fill out. These are little things, but each time the process
is slowed, it adds up to a longer wait for that wonderful puppy.
