I understand your concern.  One of the reasons I chose Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael, California is because they run a two week course instead of a four week course.  Their proximity to my home (an hour's drive away) was also a factor.

I am looking into getting a guide dog, but haven't gotten any pepper work yet. I am still looking at schools, but I am finding the 4 weeks away from home and work a bit much to work around.  I want a dog and hope to get things started soon.
