[nagdu] Cold weather

My guide, Chase, and I are headed to Milwaukee soon.  We live in the moderate climate of the San Francisco Bay Area.  I see highs in MKE ranging around thirty degrees F.  
What do I need to do to help Chase cope with the cold?  He --of course -- has a fur coat, but I keep it farily short.  He has a rain coat, but I don't know how much warmth it would provide.  He has shoes.
