[nagdu] Barking Puppies!

Abby. I'd call Leader now about the barking. What I wouldn't do is find your own trainer and I certainly wouldn't spend money on a trainer. Since they own your dog, they can literally pay for the resolution of this problem.
Tell them you'd be willing to work with a non guide dog trainer and see what they say.

My pretty princess will bark through a high-collar. It's not loud but I can tell she's not getting it.
I got Jada from Leader, and in January I can apply for ownership. So I am wondering if a month or so after I own her, I should call them about the barking.
In January, I am planning to move into college so I will be calling them anyway to for O and M anyway.
GL doesn't make a difference, she doesn't like to work in it. To the point that every time the stops working, ′for a curb or stairs or doors′ she will rub her head against my leg, or stop and paw at her face.

It does require having the dog on leash at the time the offense occurs, and I think this person said the barking happens when the dog is on tie-down at work.

>> Well shoot, if she is working well I'd leave it alone. I can see where you might not want to call the school. If you did, you could remind them that their taking the dog away didn't really solve anything. I would look for a trainer, but rather than having them do the training, I would have them come or demonstrate what they do that is effective in making dogs cease their barking. I've not ever been able to resolve my issue with Fisher and lunge/bark at other dogs that he doesn't know, but he does it less in his GL. I just don't bother to talk to the school about it. They have no real suggestions, and their coming here is a waste of time and money.

Then he comes home one day and says "I want you out of here". That's what happens if you don't own your dog. It does no good to spend money and look up dog trainers in a situation like this.

Second, this isn't a guide dog issue, it sounds like a dog issue. If you have the money or can find someone who knows dog training to help deal with the dog issue. I would not want the school to take my dog over barking if I could find some help near by. I would look up dog trainers in my area and talk to them and see what they can do.
