[nagdu] Ear infection

Dear List members:
	Huck had two I know about before I got him but had not actually
developed one since, but as I think I mentioned on list, I wonder about my
vet's money-making, from time to time.
	I no longer get my dogs groomed there, but a huge advantage is, he
is less than two blocks away, and I wouldn't say there has been malfeasance,
but some vets, I believe, think there is this all wealthy "they" who takes
care of all our needs, and that we are better off than average John Q
Public.

I'd wait and see if this is her first. Deffinately treat it, but if it
doesn't happen again, you have nothing to worry about. 
The vet told you this is the fifth dog she's seen, not the cause of the ear
infections. She only thinks its allergies, and I'd be asking or at least
thinking about what product she may be trying to sell you. 
For now, I'd treat the infection and if it comes back, deal with it then. 
If your dog is from a school, you may want to see if ear infections were a
problem at the school. If they were, then my answer changes.

Faye has been scratching at her ear and quite agitated by it the last few
days, so I took her to the vet today. She said it is an ear infection, and
that Faye was the fifth dog just today that came in with an ear infection.
She also said it is probably allergies. Is this common this time of year?
What, if anything, can I do to prevent future infections?
