[nagdu] Grooming costs

Darla,

I think you can just sign up at Petco for the card. Just before we
moved, they offered a choice of discount plans, but I can't remember the
details. We don't have one out here, or any pet store. Very sad. I need
to save up for next time we go somewhere there is a Petco so I can stock
up on stuff!

Grooming costs for a poodle can be a little insane. We were getting off
light at around $65.00 every 4 to 8 weeks, depending on season. By 8
weeks, brushing Mitzi becomes a full time project! So we got some good
clippers -- her coat is too thick for cheap ones. But now we are taking
the do-it-yourself route except for the nails and all. I use aloe vera
gel for cleansing and conditioning, along with olive oil, which also
helps the clippers. When we can afford it again, we're going to start
back with a pro groomer, although it's hard to get in out here. So Mitzi
is a woolly booger until we can find time to cut her down to size.
