[nagdu] TSE now breeding poodles

I heard rumors of this last year. Yes, it is good more poodles are available. As Gary said the poodle crosses do tend to get anxious as they get older. Some schools have stopped the breeding because of this. I joke and say since they are a cross the first three years they act like a social lab then one day realize they are a poodle and hate socializing. I had a poodle for eighteen months. You will never meet a smarter breed with a lot of personality. I always said he reminded me of a cross between my goldens and pet shepherds. Very serious but could be extremely silly which was great. My poodle's temperment was stable for a poodle. They are more sensitive to things like travel in general. They are ones to not eat or potty in unfamiliar places. The city really wore on him and though the trainer said he didn't look really scared he just looked like, um ok cars try to run us over, there is always construction wouldn't it just be safer to stay home? I also began to notice that on crowded subway platforms if I touched his back he would jump and look around. They really only like attention from their family so the constant petting from strangers that I didn't always know about and therefore couldn't control wore on him. In another living situation he would of been fine I think. Not that other breeds can't get this stress. I have a horrible intersection by work and an o and m instructor helped me out with it but also showed me the station before mine which is only three blocks further. Pinta was hesitating at this intersection. Again in one crossing of this intersection I usually have more than one traffic check. The director of training at my school said sometimes dogs just say no. I agreed that I am as anxious which doesn't help so we usually use the other station.
As for the chocolate labs I've heard they tend to be aggressive and hyper though some schools use them and this could totally be a rumor.
I love poodles though and if I ever get a pet dog that will be the breed I choose!

When you cross breed you don't know if you'll get more lab or more poodle which means you don't know which temperment you'll get and what the shedding status will be. Also, i've heard that labordoodles and goldendoodles often are rather anxious which can express itself as dog aggression. Of course, if you've had a lab and get a poodle it could be the poodleness that is very different. Bogart is a vocal dog and to my annoyance, often is quite barky, especially out of harness.
