Nicole,
Do you know how to manually pill your dog? I could tell you how to. Or
maybe you would be comfortable with someone like a vet showing you
physically.
When I attended GEB, the instructors showed us all how to pill our dogs.
It is very quick and easy. With the dog standing, you just reach to
the back of their mouth and push the pill in place. Gently hold the
dog's mouth closed until you feel the dog swallow. You can scratch
their chin or throat to coax them if they won't swallow. Give water,
food, or a couple treats afterward to wash it down so to speak.
When the golden guy was sick earlier this year, I gave him herbal
capsules and enzymes this way. I gave him a bit of fresh or
freeze-dried organ meat , then the capsule, followed by 1 or 2 more
bits of meat. I did that for each capsule. It worked perfectly. You
could use your treat of choice instead.
