[nagdu] Radio interview this morning

Hey, Dudley,
hard to say regarding the amount of snow in such a short period... I think I would be inclined to agree with you except that certain areas are buried in snow, blocks of ice, etc., for six months of the year. This is not the case in Calgary or Montreal, soooooo...

Yeah, the cameraman during our shoot was doing that squat backwards with the light right in Jenny's face. In situations like that, she's a lot like me, in that she will basically bulldoze her way out of there as fast as possible. There was NO way I could get her to slow down. LOL

I doubt this is unique to Edmonton, just a hazard when we get a bunch of
snow in a short period of time. As bad as it is here at present, I shutter
to think what the residents of Buffalo had to put up with when they had to
plow through the five feet of snow that got dumped on them in less time than
the foot we received.

Regarding Mich, I wouldn't say he was spooked by the camera. It was more
like he was confused.

For much of the shoot, the cameraman was nearly squatting on his haunches
while scooting backwards in front of us, with his camera right in Mich's
face.

Mich likes to motor, and, of course, we were constrained to keep our speed
to that of the cameraman's.

And, of course, the sidewalks were rather messy, so Mich was doing his best
to pick a safe path while keeping an eye on the cameraman who just wouldn't
get out of his way.

Additionally, we'd have to stop every twenty or thirty feet while the guy
paused to reposition the camera or realign himself.

Needless to say, it's not something we normally run into, nor something Mich
was trained to deal with, so he was being extra cautious.

Having said all that, I have to express my admiration for Robin, the
cameraman. I've never witnessed anybody who could keep his footing while
scooting backwards and filming before. And, the fact that he managed to
capture some usable footage is really quite the accomplishment.

Best wishes for you and Jenny for your shoot
!

Take Care,
Dudley, with Michener

Thanks, Emily and Dudley!

Dudley, is this just unique to Edmonton? I've been to several other Canadian
cities in the winter and have never experienced anything remotely close to
this.

I also enjoyed your TV spot on taxi service... my husband said Mich looked
pretty spooked by the cameras! Jenny didn't like the cameras AT ALL when we
videotaped an interview... she kept on trying to walk faster than the
cameraman so we could get around him. LOL

Great interview, Daryl.

BTW, the sidewalks are lousy on the south side as well.

In case anyone is interested, here is an interview I did with CBC Radio
regarding the poor roads this week that prompted me and my dog and my friend
to walk along the shoulder of a crazy busy road. TV spot will follow:
