[nagdu] Growing Up Fisher

Well, as far as locking the dog up somewhere, all of mine have been left
somewhere in the house at sometime or another. Every sence I was a kid, our
little pets would get into the closets, pantries or laundry rooms. Sometimes
they would bark and others they would lie in a big pile of clothes and go to
sleep. Holly will occassionally sneak into ar room and I won't know she came
in. I'll close the door and go about my business. Later, we'll call the dogs
to go outside and we'll hear a scratch or sniff from behind the door. Even
sighted folks do this! And the tree! I have a funnier story than that! I
went over to someones house and they wanted me to help cut down this tree.
It wasn't very big but it was springy. Three blind dudes went out to cut it.
Me, I had the saw. My friend sat on the tree when I started to cut it. The
third guy who's yard it was dragged it off. And also pulled the end down so
as to help me open up the cut a little more! My buddy who sat on the tree is
a middle Eastern dude with a great hardy laugh. The other guy is relatively
quiet. And me, somewhat in between. This tree was near the street. We had
neighbors coming out to watch and all of us had a great time! Of course, we
removed the thing and we all laughed so hard folks were calling us the three
studges! The point is that yes we can be commical as well as serious. I've
often toyed with the idea of making a commedy routine with blindness as its
central focus. Addressing primarily questions that sighted folks ask us and
giving anwsers in humours fashion. I think I could do this quite tastefully
but so far, most of the blind community doesn't like humor involving them. I
believe that we could be funny and have a great time without being
ddiscriminatory against us blind folks. I missed the show but I wonder, is
the actor blind? And if so, does he really use a guide dog?
