OMG, Waffles. Here Waffles. Sit Waffles. I can't keep a straight face just
thinking about it. The only food that comes to mind that would pass as a
name for a human is Ginger. There's a few others that aren't too bad for
animals. I knew a few cats named Pepper, and another one named Peanut; my
friends name their cats names that start with P. There was a poodle who used
to live in my neighborhood in Washington State whose name was Liquorish. In
a movie, there was a gray poodle named Coco. Oh, and my friend had a
chocolate lab named Toblerone, but he went by Toby.

Thanks Mardi. That sounds like a good method. I always thought the new dog
name would need to sound quite similar to the old one, but I see that's not
necessarily so.

I toyed with changing my dog Amba's name to Amber, but it did not suit her.
I later found out that Amba is one of the Hindu names for the Mother
Goddess, and thus suited Amba absolutely.

GDB used to have a real thing for food names. I swear everyone in the puppy
department must have been on a diet! Waffles was one I remember.
I'd sure have changed that!

It's hard enough to get strangers to treat me as an adult to be taken
seriously. IMO, having a dog with a silly name would make that task harder.
