I get what you're saying. Thank you. If I were him, I'd change the dog's
name.
I hope Guiding Eyes gave the wrong name to the media.
Odds are, if he rents, whoever he rents from already knew he has a guide
dog. And if they do try to overcharge him, well he can just contact the
media again.

true the media has left things out.
I can see that he will have many challenges ahead for him.
like people calling the dog by name now.
Having to bond with the new dog and help the retired one transition from
working all of the time to being just a pet.
How about if he lives in a apartment and the management says we will charge
you a pet fee now.
I can go on and on.
But I won't.
I wish him and his fur babies well.
best wishes,
Sincerely,
Melissa R Green

He got training with the new dog, it's just that the media didn' report it.
I don't know that I agree with you that he has a lot of challenges ahead of
him.
He is blind, he had a guide dog, he had a medical event that could happen to
anybody, blind or sighted, in a way that made the news, at a time that
captured the emotions of people who read the story.
What am I missing?

So am I.
It sounds like he just got the dog and didn't have to do any training.
I wonder how long this will all last.
I have stated, there are lots of challenges ahead for him.
We will never hear about that part of the story and he will not be on the
today show or any other show.
Its not warm and fuzzy like the current story.
Sincerely,
Melissa R Green and guide dog Pj who is synical like her mama.

Since Guiding eyes does not expect people to pay for their dogs, I do not
understand the concept of this man being gifted with a new dog. He could
have just gone and gotten one like anyone else. Are donors helping him take
care of the dog? Maybe they're paying for food. Maybe they're paying vet
expenses? I am very confused.
