My name is Brian Skewis, the new Executive Officer of the California State Board of Guide Dogs for the Blind (Board).  I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as well as to make a small request of guide dog users residing in California as well as any graduates of California guide dog schools.  In an effort to accomplish our mission to "ensure the quality of the guide dog industry by protecting, promoting, and educating guide dog users, instructors, schools, and the public in order to enhance the lives of blind or visually impaired individuals", the Board recently released a consumer survey on its website.  This survey is completely anonymous and will help the Board compile information from guide dog users as a whole to determine if there are any ways in which the program can more effectively serve the guide dog community.
