[nagdu] GDB Evaluation Today

All right, here I suspect what I am going to say is going to fly in the face
of what we might call the accepted wisdom.
The fact is your street crossings will be better with the right dog then
with your cane.

If I thought I were the bee's knees with a cane I might never have applied
for a dog, though of course I love dogs and will always do so with or
without a guide dog
.
I veer when crossing probably due to my hearing situation and my crossings
are damned good with a dog.

So, I've never been that much of a believer in how the schools test you
because every time I had a juno test with a school they commented on my
street crossings and I told them what I'm telling you now.

I think just be honest with them if they ask what you think about your
crossings, and yes, as Brandon said, practice before hand, it won't hurt, if
you're rusty you'll be nervous when you're put on the spot to do your walk
with the instructor,

I wish you all the best and be in touch any time.

Dan the man, Parker the pup

Have you had mobility training, or can you get it? If you've had it and
you're just out of practice, then I recommend practicing as much as you can.
It's not that hard once you get it. I practiced my route a bunch of times
before they came. If not then you should get some mobility training.

a bit over an hour about everything that was involved. Then I did my route,
which was about a half mile. That went very well. Then on the way back from
there we did the Juno walk. I just loved it. We went so fast and it was
comfortable. I got the hang of it before we got home. He did the same thing
with Christine afterwards obviously. That's really all it was.

for years. I got a bit of a refresher since we just moved to this area last
year, but I've had the technique of it for a long time. I was nervous about
the mobility, but he said I did very well with everything.
