Hi all. I just wanted to tell you that I live in Boca Raton Florida, and I
really don't know which streets are probably safe in order to practice
street crossing, and be evaluated by my mobility instructor in order to get
a guide dog! I just wanted to ask you, does anyone here live in Boca Raton
Florida, and do you know which streets are safe in order to practice street
crossing? Just wondering! Also, could you tell me the names of all the
others guide dog schools, I really don't know all of them? I will really
appreciate it! a lot! Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks and God bless!! :)

Hi, Helga,
I will chime in, just as others have. I am working my first dog from the
Seeing Eye, a yellow Labrador named Dallas. I will agree with everything
everyone else has said here. It is vital that you be able to make safe
street crossings decisions before you get your dog. If you are really
nervous about crossing streets, your dog will definitely pick up on that and
might not work properly.
Hope that helps, and I would encourage you to do your research on your
schools. Do not just apply to one, in case that school will not take you.
Keep in mind what you want in a dog, whether or not you want to own your
dog, and whether or not you want veterinary support. These are only a few
things.
Thanks,
Aleeha
