Maybe it's me, but I still refer to my dog as a Seeing eye dog or guide dog.
I know it is politically correct to use the term Service dog, but my dog is
not used to provide emotional support or any other task accept for guiding
me but I also know I am in the minority being that everyone has jumped on
the Service dog bandwagon.
Okay I will put on my flame retardant suit now.

Subject: [nagdu] Security check
Last night, we went to a concert. A security person wanted to check over
Ben, not sure why, but I let her. She ran her hands over him, like they do
at the airport, then she looked at his ID tags. Ben has 2: one with my
address, and one saying Seeing Eye and their address. I think she was
confirming that he's a genuine service dog.
I thought it was funny and a bit odd. In 34 years, I don't remember anyone
ever looking at the school ID tag.
Tracy
