[nagdu] Pull in the harness?

Lexia has a pull that is somewhere between moderate and strong. She is also
fairly good at adjusting her pull and speed based on the situation.
Yesterday, when I got home from work, I choose to take the long way around
to get into my apartment, even though is was very lightly raining, I was
wearing my slightly clunky rain boots, and I was carrying my backpack. On
this particular route, we usually walk fairly fast. However, Lexia could
tell that it was not a good idea to walk fast in the current situation. When
we do walk fast, though, it helps to have a slightly stronger pull. But
there's "strong", and then there's "I'm on a mission". When Lexia gets her
"I'm on a mission" pull, I immediately stop and do obedience because I know
that that little nose or mind is up to something. Lexia is not quite a
freight train. We had at least one of those in our training class, and I am
kind of glad that I did not get that particular dog.

Yeah, and some of us aren't 20 and as strong as we once were, but my
retired guide's pull was just too subtle; I think she pulled a bit more in
class, but she got less confident for some reason, so the pull lessened.
AWs long as Huck doesn't drag me off a cliff <big grin> I like the
moderate pull and the fact that, unless I stop him, my tentativeness--not
sure of a location such as a curb or driveway--he doesn't lose his
confidence.

sometime a harder pull is harder to handle is your wrists or soulder bother
you and it also depends on how far in frontthe dog it.
