[nagdu] When they gotta GOOOOOOOOOOO!

Hi!

Jenny has never ever EVER had an accident in-doors. I work in an office environment, so she sleeps alot, but I take her with me to meetings and such. I think she knows that I can't see her look (my husband says she gives him "the eyes| if she has to go, but for me she has a noise that she makes that tells me when she has to go out in situations like if she's off-harness, etc.).

Never thought of monitoring water intake... she tends to be a bit of a camel that way. I have a water bowl under my desk at work that she drinks from when she's thirsty, and same thing at home...

Daryl

I hate to say it, but I kind of agree with the rest of what has already been
said. When they have to go, they have to go. How often do you give Jenny
water, and how much does she drink? Lexia tends to drink when she comes in
from doing her business, and I only let her drink a little because she will
over compensate. Then, about an hour before I know 100% for sure that she
will able to go out, I let her drink all that she wants, which is about two
cups. I also give her a little more than a half a cup when we get to work in
the morning.

Hi, Cathy,

I definitely do this when I can, but the most recent episode was when I went
shopping with a friend for a few hours. I did take her to go before we got
on the bus and went to the mall at 1PM, and at about 4:30-5:00 she was doing
the pee-pee walk. This is not unreasonable, but I was just wondering if
anyone had any ideas on what to do in that kind of moment.
After we got out of the mall and dropped my friend off at her dorm, first
thing Jenny did was to guide me to a grassy area, stand there with her nose
in the air, and wait for me to take the harness off so she could go pee. LOL

I was thinking more in those instances when there is no opportunity to take
her somewhere to go...

Hi Daryl,
I am thinking that it might be helpful if you give Jenny the
opportunity to relieve herself before she gets kinda desperate. It is a good
thing that she's able to hold it when she's obviously ready to pop. I used
to work at a college and I couldn't always get up and leave when my dog was
giving me the sign that she needed to go out. To solve this matter it just
helped to let her out to park before I became too busy.

Good luck!

Hi guys!

Quick question for you.

When Jenny really really REALLY has to get busy, and I'm not in a position
to take her to get busy, she tends to walk very very quickly, and it's all I
can do to keep her on a steady pace, and sometimes I just can't. While I
understand completely why she is doing this - she has a special "I have to
Pee!" way that she walks - and I try and convey this to her, she sometimes
just... won't.. slow... down.

Any pointers?

Daryl and the snoring Jenny
