[nagdu] When they gotta GOOOOOOOOOOO!

Karyn,
Thanks for the advice! I think I have a decent handle on it - during work I have her more or less on a schedule. If she gets busy earlier in the morning, then she will need or might want to busy mid-morning. If she gets busy later (i.e. just before we leave for work), she's fine until lunchtime. Usually later in the afternoon or early evening, she will have to go more frequently, and I am starting to think that is directly related to the fact that we're out and about, switching buses, walking longer, etc.

It can take a while to get used to your dogs habits-- when it needs to go
based on how much it has ate or drank (and sometimes what it ate also plays
a roll).
My previous dog was on a medication that made him both have a need for more
water and as a result more opportunities to busy.
Rather than have urgent *I gotta go* scenarios, I like to watch how much my
dog drinks and how long it has been since a busy or large amount of water
was consumed more closely.
I don't work, but up until recently a lot of things (including the process
to busy my dog) were a lot more challenging for me with my energy level and
sensitivities.
Some people think I give my dog too much opportunity to busy when I am
working him. I find a place before shopping for him as well as before any
long transit ride. If its a shorter ride and he was not busied beforehand,
then I find somewhere to do so once we get off.
If I were working, I'd probably set times and take my dog just as a pattern
at certain times. It may not completely eliminate the urgent situations from
ever occurring but it will greatly diminish them. It may take some tweaking
to figure the best interval but it sure beats the urgent speed running pace
walks to find somewhere to go.
