Dear Sherry,

congratulations; I'll be curious to hear more about the accelerated
training when you get home, but I can understand, with your additional
ability and for us who are older and enveloping bone and joint issues, it
could be very challenging.
I can't wait to hear more about Petunia.

Subject: [nagdu] me and my new dog

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to check in and let you all know about my new dog. I am here
at the end of my first week, at GDB's Oregon campus. I have a female golden
retriever named Petunia. I had one golden guide before who retired in 1999,
and I've longed for another for years. Unfortunately, goldens with the right
temperament, pace and focus and manageability that I need in particular
don't come along very often. So this was an intersection of fate that has
given me what I longed for. I find the accelerated training here difficult
but challenging and stimulating.

"The day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends
and break all bonds of fellowship, when the age of men comes crashing down.
But it is not this day! This day, we fight!learning the new handling
techniques has been a lot of fun,I go into more detail on my blog if anyone
is interested.I hope all are doing well here. I don't have much time to read
mail but try to check in a little everyday.

even though my silly girl isn't actually very food motivated. But she's
adorable and sweet and i'm so crazy about her already.
By all that you hold dear, by this good earth, I bid you, STAND! Men of the
West!"
