Good on ya, Tracy,
This transition period gives me chills and makes me sad just thinking about it. I am glad you ahve the foresight to be prepared for such eventualities... not everyone has that. I hope you will have a wonderful last few months (a year?) with ben the wonder dog.

I am in the process of my first year with a young whipper-snapper... it's hard, as I know you know... but it makes those in-sync moments SO much better.

Don't tell Ben... he'll need to enjoy his time sniffing and peeing when the time is right... but not before then!

Daryl and young whipper-snapper Jenny

Subject: [nagdu] Put in my application

Well, this morning I put in my application to TSE for Ben's successor,
though I don't want any real action on it for a while yet. Ben will be ten
in October. He is in excellent health, though he is slowing down a little.
I think that, possibly by Winter, and definitely by Spring, he will be ready
to hang up his harness and live the life of leisure. I'm not telling him
that, once he retires, he will be allowed long walks with nothing to do but
sniff and pee, or he'd quit today.
I'm not looking forward to breaking in a young, green whippersnapper, but
the wheel turns and the big guy has certainly worked hard and earned the
right to flop down and put his feet up.
Tracy
