[nagdu] a very bad day and seeking suggestion

Hahaha. You never know; that could have actually come in handy some day. I
have heard of dogs who are trained to bring the phone to their owners if
they fall on the floor, but I do not know if they are trained to dial it. I
actually heard of a story where a kitten got its collar stuck in its mouth.
The kitten knocked the phone off the hook and then somehow managed to step
on the 911 autodial. When they heard the kitten meowing into the phone, they
came and got it.

Hahahahahahah, Debbie; I have had my own police car ride and for the very
same reason--not quite as bad as having them show up because a dog knocked
off my phone that is programmed to dial 9-1-1 and return from the laundry
room with the police there.

I told them what happened, but they weren't convinced, so I let them search
the place, and they found no one but my guide dog.

Believe me I un-programmed that button very quickly because they were
beginning to fine people for that, and my neighbor couldn't resist asking
me why the cops were that. She and I got a big laugh out of it, after the
fact.

Oh boy, oh boy. Sometimes doing some basic obedience works, though it
sounds like the rain has really messed things up for you guys. You could
try doing some food rewards-this might be the time to do things like that
when things are not going well.

I had my own adventure this morning. I have learned where a different bus
comes, and it's about 8 or 9 blocks from my house.
We did the route this morning. But there were leaves blowing everywhere,
and Neena wanted to stop and sniff them, pick stuff up off the ground, and
just watch them blow. It took a combination of praise and correction to get
her to the bus stop.
We caught the first bus fine. The second (and this was my fault
totally) we missed. I did not have a good line of direction for crossing a
street. This man came up to me and offered to help.
He was very nice, not intrusive or anything, just trying to be helpful. But
I missed my bus. It turns out he is a deputy sheriff, so I got a ride to
work. Lol. Boy did I get teased about that! But I figured out what I did
wrong, I think so probably tomorrow I'll try it again. I will tell you that
the back of a cop car is not going to be a place where you will be
able to get your dog to lie down on the floor. Lol. Peace,
Debby and Neena P.S. Hope all things work out with Dallas.
