I hope that this does not come across as harsh, but this is pretty much the
long and short of it. Like a cane, a guide dog is a mobility aid.
Occasionally, you will come across a really smart dog who can find his/her
way home when blocks away, but it is not something that is guaranteed with
every dog. Your responsibilities when traveling with a dog are much the same
as when you travel with a cane. You have to know where you are and how to
get to where you are going. You have to read the traffic. If you cannot get
from one place to another without getting lost or turned around or crossing
the street at the wrong time multiple times, then you probably will not be
accepted to get a dog.

Subject: [nagdu] guidedog and mobility skills

Hi,
I have a question: I talked with Pilot dogs yesterday and had asked them
about how the admissions process wsa going.
I was told that the committee had already met.
I had been told that there is no set date as to when they will be meeting
again.
I have a question: I do apologize if this is off-topic; so please forgive
me. I didn't know where else to post this. I do have epilepcy and I did
find out that I had sustained a head Injury.
Is the excellerated mobility training program at Leader dog a fast pased
Mobility training program?
I'm supposed to have a evaluation on my mobility skills to see whether or
not I'm even ready for a guide dog yet.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
John Sanders
