Barb, these are the wrong reasons to get a guide dog. You say you don’t need a guide. Guide dogs are not guard dogs; I don’t think this would fly even if you asked your employer.

Subject: [nagdu] Working third shift

Hi, Barb Breuer here. I haven 't posted in a long time.
I stopped trying to get a dog because there was no good and safe place at my job to have the dog. But things my change.
My boss ask me if I wanted to work third shift. Third shift I would be the only person in the building a big building, when he ask me I almost said I would do it if I could have a dog to be with me. So I was wondering I am legally blind with good sight. I want the dog to help me keep watch for people that shouldn't be there, and yes the dog would keep my company.
My job is in a very large health club. I need a dog I can take on the bus. I was thinking if I could find a guide dog that maybe didn't quite pass being a guide, but more then a pet.
If I drove I would put the dog in the car, but I need a dog I can take on the bus.
Many people who work jobs where they are a long or odd hours something's bring dogs to work for safety. I can't see across the gym so I can be safe.
I am just thinking this other. Nothing is set .
Barb
