Oh wow! Perhaps (and this just came into my head, so I have no 
idea whether it would work or not.  So, having said that.  What 
if you treated him when he continues on after you have encouraged 
him not to veer.  And even have a party after a truck or bus goes 
by, just to let him know that everything's cool? I don't know.  
Just trying to think what might work.  (Wish I'd thought of this
