[The Pawpower Pack]

yesterday I was almost hit by a driver who was going down my small, one way street about 35 mph.  We were walking in front of someone's car, about to cross my road, and someone came blowing passed.  Soleil could not see them in time and we nearly stepped in front of  that car.  Soleil and I were bbetween 2 cars parked very close together, so she had no choice but to yank me backward.  
Well today we woke up and I noticed that she was kind of droopy.  Then I noticed she was limping and people told me she was, so this afternoon, as soon as I could, I took her to the vet.  
She has a soft tissue injury in her right hip and is on prednasone delivered into her hip via shot.  


  
You get a guide dog and you always live with the realization that one day, they could die to save you, but it kind of tears out your heart when that knowledge lands right on your doorstep.  
I'm so glad she's going to be ok and that she was not hurt worse. 
Also my vet, who rescued her from a backyard breeding situation— she was the breeder, not a pup, was really emotional to see her working as a guide and told me I should be proud of her and that I did a great job.  It was amazing to hear that. And to see his pride in her.
