[nagdu] Going to Prison

I generally don't allow people to pet my dog. Lee knows me; we went to
seminary together. I would have let them, but she told them they could not.
I would have let them, as I said, but I've noted lately at the hospital that
he isn't always as into it as he once was. I might well have had to
encourage people to spread it out. They loved him. In the prison yard people
would see him and say "ahhh!" They applauded him in the service. I was happy
with the arrangement.

Who was told that they couldn't pet your pup? The prisoners or the staff?

I'm glad yourvisit went well, Cindy.

Cindy,
Glad things went well at the prison. I do the same technique of walking
through the metal detectors that you describe, it works very well for us.

So tonight was the night. We went to the prison. First off, we had to go
through the scanner. Mike Hingson said at the airport he puts the dog at
rest and drops the leash at the edge of the thing, so I decided to try that
this time. People were impressed when he waited and then roared on through
when I called him. Thing must have been set to low sensitivity because it
did not go off.

The folks had been told in advance that they could not pet him; they were
very respectful of that. It was a wonderful experience and I would love to
do it again.
