[nagdu] Not vocalizing in the Halti? WAS Re: a goat

Hi Daryl,,
He can pant and drink water with the Halti. I would never use it as a
muzzle. It is not tight around his head or muzzle at all.
For some reason, the Halti cuts down on his impulsive behavior--his
dog distraction and vocalizations at dogs and horses. Maybe it's in
relation to the added pressure around his head and nose. Idk.
I understand dogs will be dogs and sometimes bark at things. When it's
drawn out and on a regular basis though, I use the Halti as a
management tool. I'm not sure if the behaviors will ever go away, but
if I can manage and minimize them by simply having him wear the Halti,
I'll keep it up.

He doesn't just bark at dogs or horses once, he will do it repeatedly,
in addition to lunging, growling, and howling. That sort of behavior
is attention-getting and also embarrassing. With horses, it is a fear
response, acting all "Quien es mas macho," to seem like he's not
afraid when he really is. With other dogs, he does it because he wants
to play with them. No matter the circumstance, it is inappropriate.
